Bomdila

Bomdila, the headquarter of West Kameng District is a small beautiful town situated at a height of about 8000ft. above sea level. The place is inhabited by tribes like Aka (Hrusso), Miji (Sajalong), Monpa, Sherdukpen, and Bogun (Khawas). The Buddhist monastery of Bomdila is the repository of culture and is among primary attraction of the area. It has a lot of attractions for the tourists with its cool climate, apple orchards, artistic people, snow-capped Himalayan peaks and Buddhist Gompas. The craft centers, ethnographic museum and emporium, etc. are worth visiting. One can also watch various snow-clad mountain peaks from Bomdila including the Kangto and Gorichen Peaks which are the highest peak of the state.
