The headquarters of Lohit district is located amidst beautiful landscape by the side of the Lohit River. It is basically dwelling place of Digaru Mishmi along with other communities. Tibetan refugee settlement is also seen in and around the Tezu town. District museum showcase the life and artifacts of the inhabitants of Lohit Districts. The major Mishmi God is Ringyajabmalu and the major Mishmi festival is known as Tamladu puja. It is celebrated each year on second weeks of February. People from all communities and all walks of life are invited to join in the celebrations.
