This charming resort surrounded by the Mishmi Hills in Wakro has been built with support from a Dibrugarh based travel company, Purvi Discovery. The resort consists of four huts on stilts, built entirely of bamboo and cane in the Mishmi style of architecture. Each hut has two rooms with a double, and two single beds, each. The total occupancy of the resort is 16 persons. There is a central dining place. The rooms, with their bamboo and cane décor (including a traditional bamboo door latch!) have in the centre a replica of the traditional fireplace used by the Mishmis. The beds are clean and comfortable, complete with a mosquito net. Each room has a small sit out, again tastefully done where one can sit and enjoy the view of the Mishmi hills in the distance. Four concrete modern toilets with showers, a little distance away from the huts, assure the traveler that this is not a completely ‘wild experience’ (Hot water will be provided in buckets). The staff is extremely warm and attentive, and the meals scrumptious.
