Manas National Park is situated at the foothills of the Himalayas in the state of Assam. The park is divided into two biomes – one is the Grassland Biome and the other is the Forest Biome.

The main attraction of this park is the beautiful river Manas, named after the serpent Goddess Manasa. The best time to visit is from October to April. Manas National Park is home to the critically endangered Assam Roofed Turtle, Hispid Hare and Pygmy Hogand the largest population of Bengal Florican birds. Moreover, there are 50 species of reptiles, 3 species of amphibians, 55 species of mammals and 380 species of birds in this park. Various species of migratory birds and animals like Asian Golden Cat, Red-headed Trogon, Hoolock Gibbons, Golden Langur, Sambar Deer, Indian Rhinoceros, Slow Loris, Asiatic Wild Buffalo, Black-tailed Crake, Swamp Francolin, Oriental pied, Wreathed and Great Hornbills can be spotted very easily during the safari. The Eco-tourism Society in the National Park is famous for local handlooms and textile woven by the Bodo Tribe. These are permitted from sunrise to sunset from 9 to 12 in the morning and again from 2 to 5 in the evening.
